TEACHERS OF THE YEAR

Each year, LACOE honors some of our most talented educators through the Teachers of the Year (TOY) awards program. GLA has developed new program elements to elevate, celebrate, and invest in teachers. Together we have developed a resource hub for strategies and best practices from Teachers of the Year educators, professional learning networks featuring Teachers of the Year honorees, and provide innovation grants available to teachers around LA County focused on student-centered practices. In our first year of grantmaking we invested in dozens of  projects that reached thousands of students that were most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our grantees provided innovative distance learning strategies, built community connection, and integrated meaningful social-emotional support. Learn more here.

GREATER LA SUMMER PLANNING NETWORK

In partnership with LACOE and the Partnership for Children and Youth, we have launched the Greater LA Summer Planning Network for select districts. Participating districts have intimate access to statewide leaders in expanded learning and summer enrichment as they recover from the pandemic. They also have dedicated time for collaborative planning with their internal team and colleagues from neighboring districts, access to original planning tools and resources, and hands-on guidance and implementation support through the summer and transitions into the new school year.
