At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater LA Education Foundation (Greater LA) quickly responded by coordinating community, business and philanthropic resources in support of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and LA County’s 80 school districts. Considering that conditions are everchanging, Greater LA’s response has evolved from bridging the digital divide and building capacity for LACOE and districts to effectively deliver online instruction to supporting districts through learning recovery and acceleration as they transition to reopen.
To date, with help from foundations, corporations and individual donors, Greater LA has invested over $4 million dollars to meet the most urgent needs of LA County schools and communities impacted by the pandemic.
Our team will continue to coordinate philanthropic, private, and in-kind resources in support of Los Angeles students, families, and educators. Contributions to our COVID-19 education response efforts can be made here. For more information about the COVID-19 response from LACOE, please visit lacoe.edu/covid19.
